EOP-27 is a daytime and night observation and surveillance system.

Introduction

EOP-2 is a daytime and night observation and surveillance system. The joystick and TV monitor can be operated by a single operator through manual control when the system is used for the helicopter. The system is operated by remote control through the ground station when it is used for the unmanned aircraft.

Purpose:

EOP-2 Airborne Electro-Optical Pod Surveillance System can be installed on the unmanned aircraft and helicopter. It can dynamically monitor, observe, track the ground, sea and air targets and take the video recording through CCD camera system in the daytime and through the infrared thermal imager at night. The system can be used for military field, paramilitary field and civil field etc. such as TV news gathering, anti-smuggling, maritime salvage, evidence-obtaining for fishery administration, frontier patrol, forest fire prevention and maintenance of high tension transmission line and so on.

Composition

EOP-2 Airborne Electro-Optical Pod Surveillance System adopts a gyro self-stabilization method and a turret structure. The system comprises the pod body, a control unit (including information receiving unit) a display and recording unit. The pod consists of optical system, infrared detector, color CCD camera system, electronic system and platform frame etc.

Functions and characteristics

EOP-2 Airborne Electro-Optical Pod Surveillance System is an advanced multi-function infrared/visible system utilizing high performance infrared imager and powerful visible light color camera.

Infrared imager

It can receive the heat energy of the detected target self radiation, i.e. medium and long wave infrared energy, and then convert it into real time infrared image reflecting the target features. Comparing with daytime TV / low light level TV, its imagery quality is inferior but it can normally operate in the night condition without weak starlight and near infrared illumination. It doesn't come under the influence of camouflage.

Powerful visible light camera

Integrated camera system with color/black and white switch mode can provide clear image quality. The system has high sensitivity.

Gyro stabilization balanced system

2-axis gyro stabilization balanced system can guarantee stability of the observed image.

Easy installation and lightweight

With manual /auto target search function

Screen information

The screen can display time, video state, GPS coordinate and lens direction etc.

Operational state and typical operational mode:

There are following operational states. All these states can be started by remote communication channel.

Manual control state: The joystick can control the azimuth and elevation rotation of the pod, manual search and target tracking. The operator can adjust the lens focus and zooming depending on the needs.

Inertial state: Line of sight is locked at a particular direction in the space.

Position state: Line of sight is locked at a fixed angle on a relative carrier platform.

Retract state: In order to prevent the system window, the line of sight is locked at an elevation position when the system doesn't work.

Auto scan state: The line of sight can automatically scan the window defined by the user in the space. The user can easily set search coordinate and search speed. This state is very suitable for search and salvage.
